St. Patricks NS

Broomfield N.S. is situated off the main Castleblayney to Carrickmacross road. It is a 5 teacher mixed school where the full range of classes from junior infants to sixth class are taught. We have the services of a learning support teacher who is shared with 3 other schools in the parish. The school has a large general-purpose room, which is used both by the school and the community. The hall is well equipped for Physical Education and for games. A sports day is held for the pupils towards the end of the school year.

Lisdoonan NS

Lisdoonan NS is a Primary Public School in County Monaghan. According to the latest data, attending the classes are one hundred and six pupils in four classes. It’s an all age mixed education facility that teaches in the English language.

St. Brigids NS

St. Brigids NS is located in Broomfield, Co. Monaghan. It is an all age mixed school teaching in the English language. According to recent statistics, there are sixty two pupils enrolled in three classes, the number of boys and girls is similar.

Our school Building was built in 1900 as a two-room school to alleviate over crowding in the old school, the hall, which was built in the 1860. A third room was added to the school in the early 1960 with the school being modernised and central heating added in the 1980s. Our schools has two teaching rooms and 1 room which we use for learning support and computers also a small staff room come office and indoor toilets for both boys and girls
Situated on Kingscourt Road, 5km south of Carrickmacross. Ideal location for touring Newgrange, fishing, golfing and walking. Dun-a-Ri forest just minutes away. Self-catering accommodation.

St. Joseph's NS

St. Josephs N.S. was started in 1938 on it’s present site to replace St. Patricks N.S. which was situated beside Arus Na gCumann. From it’s official opening until 1994 it was run by the Patrician Brothers. Owing to a shortage of vocations the Brothers handed over to a lay principal in 1994. The school, since its inception, has been an all-boys school catering for 175 boys in 1939 to a high of 380 pupils in 1983.

This impressive school building was officially opened in 1986. It is a spacious, well designed red brick building comprising of 10 full sized class rooms, a large general purpose hall, library, computer room, remedial room, offices and staff room, which are surrounded by a basket ball court and a generous play area.

Our school currently has 5 teacher plus one shared resource teacher and one learning support teacher and currently have 130 pupils enrolled in our school. Our school opened in 1995 and due to our expanding number of students we have applied to the Department of Education for and extension to our modern building to equip us with a further two classrooms, a library, general purpose room and a learning support room.

Ballynagearn NS

The School was built in 1935 but has undergone extensive reconstruction over the past years and is very comfortable following these improvements. The school was named Scoil Bhlaithin Iosa, The school of the little flower of Jesus, and this explains the reason that we have in our schools crest, a single red rose in honour of St. Therese.

Scoil Bhride NS

Situated on the main Carrickmacross, Drumconrath road beside the Cross roads know as the Priest Cross. We first open our doors in November 1984 and replaced two other schools in the area, those being Killark, which closed in 1968 and Carrickasedge, which closed in 1984.

St. Daig NS

St. Daigs N.S. is situated in the scenic village of Inniskeen, the birthplace of the poet Patrick Kavanagh. The village, on the banks of the River Fane, is about 7 miles from Carrickmacross and approx. 10 miles from Dundalk. The new school, built in 1970, takes its name from St. Daig who founded a monastery in Inis Caoin, the Pleasant Island in the sixth century. The school lies in the shadow of the eighth century Round Tower. There are presently 7 teaching staff at our school.

Scoil Cholmcille NS

Our school has currently 52 pupils enrolled with 5 teachers in total, 3 of which are class teachers and 2 shared learning resource teachers. Our School was established in 1849 during the great famine in the old school house on the crossroads, and our present building dates back to 1963. We are currently awaiting an extension estimated to cost 320,000 euro. We have a strong sporting tradition from football, camogie and athletics which we have had many successes. We are blessed with a hard working parent association who are presently busy fund raising for our new extension.

Corcreagh NS

Corcreagh NS is often referred to as Raferagh School because of its proximity to Raferagh Church. Our school is situated .5 km off the Carrickmacross Shercock road about 1.5 km from Shercock, nestled in a rural settling under Raferagh Hill Fort (Rathcearach) it stands the test of time well.

Drumgossatt NS

Drumgossatt National School is situated in the parish of Magheracloone about 6 km from Carrickmacross. It is approximately 1 km off the main Carrickmacross/Kingscourt Road beside St Peter/St Paul’s Church in lower Magheracloone. Situated in a rural setting it is one of the oldest schools in the county. It was built in 1891 and comprises of two rooms and two prefabricated buildings. It has two teachers and benefits from the services of a learning support teacher and a resource teacher.

Scoil Rois

Is scoil lán-Ghaelach í Scoil Rois agus is í an chéad Ghaelscoil i gContae Mhuineachaín í. De bharr tréan iarrachtaí fear darbh ainm Peadar Ó Casaide agus coiste de dhaoine a raibh suim acu sa Ghaeilge á threorú aige, d’eirigh leo foirgneamh oiriúnach a bhaint amach ar cíos ón tiarna Shirley agus Gaelscoil a bhunú. Osclaíodh an scoil don chéad uair ar an 10ú lá de Mheán Fómhair 1984. Ar an lá stairiúil sin tháinig ochtar déag isteach doras na scoile. Ag an am bhí an scoil lonnaithe ar an bPríomh Shráid trasna ó mheánscoil Lughaidh Naofa. Bliain i ndiaidh bliana do tháinig borradh is fás ar líon na ndaltaí a d’fhreastail ar an scoil. De bharr easpa spáis agus 130 ar na rollaí tógadh scoil nua i lár Clochbhaile i 2003.
