Saint Joseph’s Carrickmacross celebrates one hundred and fiftieth anniversary

Saint-Josephs-Church-300x292The Parish church of Saint Joseph’s in Carrickmacross celebrated its one hundred and fiftieth anniversary on Sunday August 7th 2016.

The faithful of Carrickmacross and the entire south-Monaghan parish of Machaire Rois marked 150 years since the dedication of their beautiful church.

The Mass of Thanksgiving with the Sacrament of Eucharist to acknowledge the century and half of worship and prayer commenced at 6 o’clock.

The chief celebrant of the Mass was the Bishop Liam MacDaid, who also delivered the homily.

Priests and parishioners of the parish extendened a warm welcome to all visitors.
