The Town Council’s night of celebrations was hosted by An Meara Bhaile Darcy Lonergan, in conjunction with Carrickmacross Town Council & Tidy Towns Committee. It was a night to celebrate the achievements made by the Carrickmacross community in 2012 including:
- Gold Medal Winners Tidy Towns Award 2012
- Pride of Place 2012 Certificate Award
- Retail Excellence Award 2012.
Christina McMahon was also honored in respect of her recent win of the Celtic Warrior Women’s Bantamweight Title.
Community and voluntary organisations throughout the town were represented at the celebrations on Wednesday evening in the new Civic Offices, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross. Also in attendance were County Council Chairman Cllr. Hughie McElvaney, Town Councillors, Council Staff, members of Tidy Towns and Chamber of Commerce.
