Who are we?
In 1986 a small group of volunteers got together to raise funds to help a friend meet some expenses of her cancer treatment. The public response was phenomenal. Much more money was donated than was needed.  The volunteers set up Carrickmacross Cancer Society to use the surplus money to help other cancer patients in the community. Money continues to be raised today for the Society by local organisations, by individuals, by the “Friends of Carrick Cancer” and from donations in lieu of flowers at the request of families of the bereaved. Donations also come from the District Court on the instruction of the Judge. The Accounts are professionally audited by Mr David Mc Sharry, Carrickmacross. A financial report is presented at the Society Annual Public Meeting. The current committee members:
  • Chairperson Pat Drury
  • Secretary Pauline O’ Hagan
  • Assistant Secretary Michael Mc Mahon
  • Treasurer Pauline Fox
  • P.R.O. Marian Maggs
