Carrick Community Allotments Ltd, situated in the heart of the town of Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan was established twelve years ago. It consists of a community orchard, sensory garden, vegetable plots, greenhouse and many other features. It is wonderful oasis of peace, colour and, in summer, abundance for all who visit.
This video hopes to give a flavour of life as a plot-holder, parent or volunteer in CCA. It is a celebration of gardening, friendship, and the wonderful rewards nature gives to those who work and respect the soil. Our thanks to Fiona Mc Entee, of Monaghan Co Council for facilitating a grant from Healthy Ireland. We are very grateful to Pat Byrne who spent many hours filming, editing and finally producing this record of a wonderful achievement for the town of Carrickmacross.
