Carrick Rovers 4 Virginia 6
Rovers U12 good run came to an end on Saturday last when league leaders Virginia beat them in a thriller in Carrick. Virginia took an early lead but Diarmaid Boylan equalised from the spot. The Cavan boys went 3 to 1 up before half time but a terrific rally by the Rovers brought them two more goals from Boylan and Killian Lennon but Virginia showed a bit of class to score twice. The young Rovers came back and Boylan completed his hat trick but Virginia had the final say with a scrambled goal. Rovers can take heart from this display; no other team has scored 4 goals against the leaders; there were improved displayed from Andrew Butler, Patrick Larney and Jamie Berg while Ronan O’Callaghan showed great leadership and fight at all times.
