Carthy slams the “Medical Card shame of Fianna Fáil and Green Party”
25ú Bealtaine 2009
Carrickmacross Councillor Matt Carthy again called on the council, in conjunction with Respond Housing Association to improve the speed ramps at Tailte an Chlochair. He has described the speed ramps leading into the Convent Lands housing development as ‘totally insufficient’.
Cllr. Carthy has called on the Town Council and the ‘Respond!’ housing association to “put in place ramps that will actually reduce the speed of traffic entering the estate”.
He said: “The current ramps leading into the Convent Lands simply do not slow down traffic. Motorists can drive through the entire housing development without ever being distracted by them. I have been demanding that this matter be resolved since 2006 and I will continue to do so until the local authority and the housing association make the necessary changes. Considering the large numbers of children in the area and the steep nature of the hills the ramps must be replaced with others that will actually fulfil their purpose."
