Farney Community Crèche and Playschool has been in operation since November 1998. It is the first community project of it's kind and has been provided at the request of the general public after a needs analysis of the town confirmed the need for an affordable full day childcare facility.

The staff of the crèche care for children ranging in age from 3 months -5 years and have an After Schools Programme for children up to 14 years, which is extended during school holidays.

The babies, toddlers and pre-school children have their own areas in the crèche and enjoy the necessary play and educational activities tailored to their various ages.

All staff are fully trained in childcare, first aid and selected areas of play and child development.
